cup granulated sugar

0 In a saucepan over medium high heat, add the strawberries, water, and sugar. Stir to dissolve the sugar. 1 Bring to a boil. Then reduce to a simmer and cook for 20 minutes, until the liquid is deeply red and the strawberries are soft. 2 Put a fine mesh strainer into a large bowl. Strain the strawberries out from the simple syrup. Don't press down on the strawberries or the syrup will be cloudy! 3 Chill the strawberry simple syrup in the fridge for an hour or two until cold, then enjoy!
